Drag & drop section #1
Lala Thomas was born on March 20th, 1996 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is known as an entertainer. When Lala was younger she always danced with her little sister Caierre "Chyna" and cousin Kyla "Kayy Sav" Lala quickly gained interest in acting when she started to grow older, her and her cousins made a YouTube Series called "Bad Kids Club" a play on the Oxygen series "Bad Girls Club." Lala and her cousins made up a dance group called "Dancers for life" and performed at family events. They later performed in front of a larger audience for their neighborhood block club party. Lala received a call to audition at a performing arts school and got accepted but found out she had to pay a large lump sum of money to attend the school which Lala couldn't afford.
Lala took her talents to high school after seeing the school dance team always performing at events. Lala showcased her talents in 2015 for her high school awards night as her and the rest of the dance team performed for the audience before accepting their awards. Lala quickly gained the popularity for her dancing skills and the staff members and classmates put her in a group with the best dancers. A month later the Boys & Girls club dance team performed for the annual Know Peace event hosted by the Boys & Girls Club leaving the audience in wows.
A year later the dance team was having drama issues after their first performance of the year. A few months later Lala injured her right ankle and her doctors told her she couldn't dance for 6 weeks, but she didn't listen because she had a performance coming up for the basketball ball team pep rally. she then made her departure from the dance team and went into acting with the American Theater company and Wells Ensemble Theater. Later that year Lala performed in two successful stage plays showcased at Wells High school 6 times and American Theater Company 2 times.
After high school, Lala has stopped dancing and wrote a short film called "Life Problems" centering on six young adults with various life struggles. "Some characters try to hide their struggles while the others are reaching their breaking point," said Thomas. "I wrote it because the situations they are facing you see in reality including teen pregnancy, abortion, navigating life as an LGBTQ+ person, homelessness, drug, and alcohol use, raising kids as a single parent, bullying, suicide, and love." Thomas is currently awaiting financial backing to produce the short film.
To date, Lala has focused on her brand "Talented Lala" which she created in September of 2016. Lala has created and sold pin-back buttons to raise funds for her performing arts center. Another way Lala has expanded her brand is through her internet radio show that she started in November 2018- Talented Lala Radio. Lala has interviewed local Talented stars Noiramad, Furgunson, and Chyna The Dancer and has segments where she talks about trans issues, equality, the state of the world and changes in music over the years as well as what happened in her life that week. When asked "What do you label yourself as? Lala stated "An entertainer, role model, and mentor."
